We are Riding For Men’s Health on Sunday 18th May 2025!
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is all about classic and vintage style motorcycles, dressing dapper and riding to raise funds and awareness for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research. Founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa in Sydney, Australia, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was inspired by a photo of TV Show Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic motorcycle and wearing his finest suit. Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting niche motorcycle enthusiasts and communities while raising funds to support the men in our lives.
Julian, the co-founder of Yorkshire Website Co. will be taking part in the North Yorkshire DGR on his classic Vespa Sprint Veloce scooter. In 2024, Julian rode the same scooter in the DGR and broke down on the Knavesmire! Since then, the scooter has been fixed and tuned by Vespa & Lambretta specialists Jakspeed of Acomb, and is ready to complete the ride.
The DGR specifically fundraises for Movember, fundraising for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. Movember has been the official charity partner of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride since 2016. Both organisations share a simple goal: to bring people together and change the face of men’s health. Funds raised by The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride help to power Movember’s work across two of the most complex issues facing men around the globe: prostate cancer and mental health.
